A Taste of Ukraine in New Westminster: Food, Culture & Community
16 Sep, 2026
This week on New West Spotlight, Carla McNeil explores Ukrainian food, culture and community in New Westminster.
The journey begins at Kozak Ukrainian Eatery, where traditional Ukrainian dishes and baking offer an introduction to the cuisine. From there, we look at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral and the role of language, faith and community in preserving Ukrainian heritage.
The episode also looks ahead to Ukrainian New West Fest on September 19, a free community celebration featuring Ukrainian music, food, cultural exhibitions and crafts.
And later in September, Ukrainian Storytime at New Westminster Public Library offers another opportunity to experience Ukrainian language and culture through books, songs and movement.
If you're curious about the cultures and communities that make New Westminster what it is, this is a great place to start.
